Já ouviram alguém dizer que, se comunismo fosse bom, as pessoas fugiriam de Miami em direção a Cuba, e não o contrário? Seja qual for a sua resposta, a verdade é que essa afirmação tem comprovação empírica em nosso mundo atual. Venezuela, Cuba e Coreia do Norte que o digam. As pessoas querem fugir desses lugares, e a grande maioria delas tenta ir para o país que melhor representa o capitalismo e a economia de mercado em todo o mundo, os Estados Unidos da América.

Peguemos agora somente os Estados Unidos. O país é composto por 50 estados e o nível de independência legislativa e jurídica dessas entidades é mais que suficiente para resultar em realidades muito distintas no tocante ao ambiente de negócios, à segurança pública, à qualidade de vida, ao respeito às liberdades individuais etc. Portanto, da mesma forma que venezuelanos têm abandonado seu país por causa da destruição econômica e do caos social perpetrados pelo governo ditatorial de Nicolás Maduro, norte-americanos têm abandonado certos estados e se mudado para outros em busca de menos impostos e melhor qualidade de vida.

O sistema montado pelos democratas no poder exauriu a riqueza e espantou a classe média

Mas de onde e para onde os norte-americanos estão se mudando? A pandemia não mudou a tendência que já vinha se mostrando forte na última década. A empresa North American Moving Services, especializada em mudanças de longa distância dentro dos Estados Unidos, realiza todos os anos uma compilação dos seus dados e dos dados de diversas empresas do mesmo segmento, e emite um estudo mostrando tendências e mudanças de ano para ano. E os dados do estudo mais recente dizem o seguinte:

Os estados com fluxo migratório de saída mais acentuado são Illinois (69% de migrantes saindo, 31% entrando), Nova York (65% contra 35%) e New Jersey (64% contra 36%);
A Califórnia vem em quarto lugar, quase empatada com New Jersey, mas muito acima se considerados números absolutos. E os destinos preferidos dos californianos têm sido Texas e Idaho;
Maryland (estado que abriga a violenta Baltimore), Pensilvânia e Michigan completam a lista dos sete “fornecedores” de migrantes.
Do outro lado, com fluxo migratório de entrada, estão Idaho (70% de migrantes entrando, 30% saindo), Arizona (64% contra 36%), Carolina do Sul e Tennessee (ambos com 63% contra 37%);
Carolina do Sul, Flórida e Texas completam a lista dos estados mais “consumidores”.
Há quatro razões principais para que o sul do país, onde estão seis dos sete estados que mais recebem migrantes, esteja nessa situação.

Os estados do sul têm vivido um crescimento econômico pujante devido à mudança de sede ou da abertura de filiais de inúmeras empresas de grande e médio porte. Fazer negócios nesses estados custa muito menos para as empresas, que não somente pagam menos impostos, mas também gastam menos com salários, uma vez que o custo de vida é menor;
Estados como Texas, Flórida e Tennessee não cobram imposto de renda estadual de indivíduos. O Arizona e a Carolina do Sul cobram, mas a alíquota é baixa, 4% ou menos. Em comparação, Nova York cobra 6% e a campeã, Califórnia, cobra 7,75%;
O sul tem clima mais quente, e muita gente simplesmente cansa de ver tanta neve na vida. O fluxo migratório da terceira idade é quase que inteiramente em direção ao sul;
As cidades do sul são mais espaçosas e espalhadas. Em decorrência disso, há menos congestionamentos, menos aglomerações e mais facilidade para se ter um “espaço próprio”, algo mais em voga que nunca em tempos de pandemia.
Três estados se destacam no estudo, em virtude da motivação principal dos migrantes. Para os migrantes do Michigan, a principal razão de mudança é a dificuldade de se encontrar bons empregos, especialmente após o declínio da indústria automobilística na área de Detroit. Para os que abandonam Illinois, o grande problema do estado são as políticas públicas falidas, que resultaram em violência urbana e baixa qualidade de vida. Para os californianos, cujo estado figura entre os que mais fornecem migrantes ininterruptamente desde 2015, o grande problema é o alto custo de vida e a dificuldade de encontrar moradia que caiba no orçamento doméstico.


Obviamente, como entidade não política e sem nenhuma intenção de perder clientes, a North American Moving Services para seu relatório por aí, e não desenvolve a conclusão óbvia ululante: todos os estados fornecedores são governados por democratas, bem como suas principais áreas metropolitanas estão nas mãos de prefeitos do partido há décadas. O último prefeito republicano de Detroit foi Louis Miriani, que deixou o cargo em 1962. Nas últimas seis décadas, só deu o Partido Democrata por lá. Em Chicago, faz 90 anos que não se vê um republicano na prefeitura. Nova York teve apenas dois prefeitos republicanos no último século, e foram os que marcaram a cidade com melhores administrações. O mais recente deles, Rudy Giuliani, foi o responsável pela erradicação da violência urbana que marcou a megalópole nos anos 1980. O outro foi Fiorello La Guardia, cujo sobrenome ficou eternizado em um dos três grandes aeroportos da região. Para terminar, São Francisco, que hoje espanta turistas e moradores com o metro quadrado mais caro do país e também com a maior população de moradores de rua entre todas as grandes metrópoles americanas (e, com eles, uma quantidade de excremento e sujeira que impede qualquer tentativa de caminhada pelas ruas da cidade), elegeu seu último prefeito republicano em 1956.

Pode até ser lugar-comum citar a frase de Margaret Thatcher, mas ela é suficientemente genial para permitir esse pecado: o socialismo dura até acabar o dinheiro dos outros. Esses grandes centros citados acima, que nas últimas décadas têm sido palco dos maiores radicalismos da esquerda norte-americana, não têm mais fôlego para gerar crescimento. O sistema montado pelos democratas no poder exauriu a riqueza e espantou a classe média. A Califórnia, por exemplo, está fadada a ser um estado de gente muito pobre ou muito rica, pelo menos nas grandes regiões metropolitanas de San Diego, Los Angeles e São Francisco. Aliás, a extinção da classe média é um fenômeno sempre presente nos lugares com sucessivos governos de esquerda marxista, e condiz com a verdadeira realidade dessa doutrina: a distribuição da pobreza e a acumulação da riqueza por uma elite minúscula e dominante.

Diante de circunstâncias adversas, de governos inaptos e da deterioração da qualidade de vida, cada vez mais gente faz coro com a canção. Adeus, bye-bye, so long, farewell.
