Perseguição de Renan Calheiro à rádio Jovem Pan e sites de direita contou com o inacreditável apoio de idiotas úteis que se dizem “conservadores”.| Foto: Jefferson Rudy/Agência Senado
Sou incumbido de escrever sobre os impulsos ditatoriais dos senadores Renan Calheiros, esse Quixote infernal, e seu fiel escudeiro, Humberto Costa, um Sancho Pança assim meio vampiresco. Ambos assinam um requerimento pedindo a quebra de sigilo da rádio Jovem Pan e de outros veículos que, julgam eles, cometem o imperdoável pecado de serem “de direita”. Me sento diante do computador. E, à medida que vão chegando tuítes de apoio (sim, apoio!) ao autoritarismo do bem de Calheiros & Costa, tuítes esses escritos por quem até ontem estufava o peito para se dizer conservador, sinto cócegas na ponta dos dedos para escrever uma única palavra: canalhas.
A única dúvida é se coloco ou não um ponto de exclamação depois de “canalhas!”. É, assim fica melhor mesmo. Só um “canalhas!” gritado a plenos pulmões dá conta de expressar o que sinto ao ver quem se dizia conservador de alta estirpe apoiando uma medida que nada mais é do que perseguição ideológica e intimidação da imprensa. Houve até quem comparasse o senador do “rezistro” e “pra mim fazê” a Carlos Lacerda.
Expresso à Editora Severa™ minha preocupação. Não sei se sou capaz de escrever um texto sobre o assunto sem cair na vulgaridade. Porque, como já registrei neste espaço, um dos poderes de Renan Calheiros é despertar o que há de pior nas pessoas. É batata: você vê aquele rostinho de cartorário do sertão, com os oclinhos finos de cafajeste daltontrevisaniano, e toda uma seção do Dicionário de Insultos lhe vem à mente.
Não é uma sensação agradável, essa. Me leva a questionar se sou capaz de ter um olhar misericordioso sobre o mundo. Evidentemente não sou. Penso, então, em desistir. Melhor deixar passar as 72 horas regulamentares. Melhor dar uma volta no quarteirão. Melhor bater com o dedinho do pé na quina da cama. Diante do que a Editora Severa™ sabiamente me sugere escrever primeiro um texto virulento, sem filtros, só para desopilar, e depois escrever o texto sério, oficial, ponderado, calmo, misericordioso e caridoso.

Desespero
É quando me ocorre que essa disputa aí, disfarçada de disputa política e do livre e vergonhoso exercício de submissão intelectual, nada mais é do que a velha e boa disputa pelo coração dos homens. O meu e o seu. Calheiros & Costa e seus inocentes úteis desejam justamente instaurar o caos para que possam posar, daqui a alguns anos, de salvadores. E quem triunfa no caos a gente sabe quem é. Não sabe? Uma dica: Guimarães Rosa usa sei-lá-quantos sinônimos para se referir a ele em “Grande Sertão: Veredas”.
Se me rendo, pois, à sentença rápida e óbvia (“canalhas!”) é porque permito, momentaneamente, que o cramulhão vença a batalha. Nesse intervalo de tempo (que, reconheço, se prolongou muito mais do que deveria), vislumbrei cem mil cenários, todos apocalípticos, nos quais ora era calado, ora passava fome e ora era simplesmente aniquilado num desses expurgos tão ao gosto dos (aqui não tem como fugir da palavra) canalhas.
Dessa fantasia sombria, sorrateiramente sussurrada em meu ouvido pelo tinhoso alagoano e seus tuiteiros amestrados, nasce o medo, quando não o desespero. Acontece comigo. Acontece com muitos dos meus leitores (menos os que consideram a aliança com o djãnho maquiavelicamente necessária). Acontece com milhões de pessoas que, intuitiva ou racionalmente, veem nesse recorte histórico um prenúncio da tragédia que sempre é uma tirania.
E o desespero, sabe todo mundo que já leu a Bíblia, C. S. Lewis ou simplesmente já provou desse pão amassado pelo dito-cujo, é um dos instrumentos preferidos do tisnado. É no desespero que palavras como “canalhas!” se impõem. No desespero, não há espaço para a compreensão ou reflexão e todos ao redor agem apenas preocupados em garantir o dinheiro de uma mamata qualquer. No desespero, de repente até o ato mais sórdido de censura é visto como virtude, porque promete uma saída ilusória de um túnel escuro (daí o desespero) igualmente ilusório. Ou melhor, ardilosamente ilusório.
União virtuosa
Ao longo da semana, muito se falará sobre a artimanha do Danador & Azinhavre para intimidar a imprensa e o trabalho de gente que simplesmente enxerga o mundo por um outro prisma. E o desespero, prevejo, ditará o tom das discussões. Não sem um tiquinho de razão, usarão palavras como “canalha” e mencionarão Venezuela e Argentina e a possibilidade (a meu ver, muito real) de estarmos passando por um golpe cozido em banho-maria. Ou seria banho-Barroso?
Mas talvez valha a pena respirar fundo, engolir em seco, conter o grito de “canalhas!” e resistir ao sedutor desespero. Porque se o joio tomou conta do trigal e a perseguição ideológica já é uma realidade, e me parece que é, ela não será vencida pelo insulto prazeroso, mas inútil. Mais do que nunca, é preciso que os bons se unam em torno do objetivo virtuoso de impedir que o desespero de hoje se transforme no inferno de amanhã.
