As manifestações públicas contra o presidente Jair Bolsonaro, contra seu governo e contra os “atos antidemocráticos”, convocadas para este fim de semana, foram um fiasco de primeiro grau. Aconteceu o pior: os organizadores chamaram o povo, e o povo não apareceu. O resultado é que conseguiram exatamente o contrário do que pretendiam. O inimigo, que deveria ser enfraquecido, saiu mais forte do que estava.
Em outra ocasião, o fracasso seria apenas um fracasso. Vindo logo depois de Bolsonaro ter enchido as ruas com as maiores manifestações desde as “Diretas Já” ou o “Fora Dilma” de 2016, foi um desastre com perda total. A culpa por isso é de um dos mais velhos e resistentes vícios da política brasileira: os donos das manifestações acham que são eles, e não os manifestantes, que têm o poder de lotar a praça. Dá nisso: se o povo não quer ir, podem ficar convocando a vida inteira que não vai acontecer nada.
O contraste patético entre os atos a favor de Bolsonaro, no dia Sete de Setembro, e as paupérrimas aglomerações da “oposição” deixam claro que o presidente, até agora, está com o comando das massas que vão para a rua. Seu grande adversário nas eleições de 2022, o ex-presidente Lula, não consegue nada parecido com o seu sucesso de público — por isso, aliás, não está querendo ganhar o jogo na Avenida Paulista, na Esplanada dos Ministérios ou na praia de Copacabana. Na derrota deste fim de semana, aliás, o PT nem quis se aliar aos organizadores, que ficaram falando sozinhos — mesmo porque, nas suas teorias, eles querem um Brasil sem nenhum dos dois, Bolsonaro ou Lula.
Movimentos que fizeram parte do comando das manifestações anti-Dilma e anticorrupção estão entre os organizadores dos atuais protestos em “defesa da democracia”; imaginam, como dito acima, que o sucesso de 2016 se deve a eles, e não ao povo brasileiro. É como o galo da fábula, que se convenceu que o sol só nascia a cada dia porque ele cantava. Sua causa, então, era diferente. É claro que colhem agora um resultado também diferente.
A esquerda e o PT, a mídia e os intelectuais, o “centro liberal” e quem mais se coloca na oposição ao presidente da República insistem em praticar o mesmo erro. Acreditam que o povo brasileiro só pode pensar igual a eles; quem não faz isso é “gado”. Não se conformam com a realidade; negam que multidões tenham se reunido para apoiar Bolsonaro. Mas então o que era aquele mar de gente vestido de verde e amarelo, com bandeiras do Brasil e gritado “mito”?
“Gado” inconsciente, irrelevante e irresponsável, diz a oposição. É um equívoco fundamental. O que os comandantes da guerra contra o presidente não percebem é que o “antibolsonarismo” não é, nem vai ser, uma causa popular no Brasil.
Enquanto não enxergarem essa evidência, continuarão a sonhar com as “pesquisas de opinião” que garantem que a popularidade de Bolsonaro “nunca esteve tão baixa” — justo no momento que fotos, vídeos e o testemunho dos participantes mostra as ruas tomadas por seus aliados.
