Neste momento da minha própria carreira posso declarar que possuo muitas dúvidas e poucas convicções acerca do que fará sentido daqui para frente. Uma certeza é que as empresas, como as pessoas, não compram aquilo que fazemos, mas, sim, a razão por quê o fazemos. Essa afirmação é de Simon O. Sinek, autor, palestrante e consultor Inglês que escreve sobre Liderança e Gerenciamento. Fez total sentido para mim!
Observando empresas de sucesso como a Apple, Simon fez uma descoberta que mudou profundamente a visão que tinha de como o mundo funcionava e, consequentemente, da forma como atuava nele. E posso afirmar que mudou para mim também, até, por que, faço parte da legião de fãs da Apple. Ao questionar por que a Apple é tão inovadora e “encantadora” (inferência minha), uma vez que tem acesso às mesmas agências de propaganda, mídias, profissionais talentosos e consultores que suas concorrentes, ele identificou um padrão. Ou seja, existe uma forma de pensar, agir e comunicar que é comum a quase todos os negócios e profissionais. Simon codificou este padrão e o chamou de “Golden Circle” (Círculo Dourado).
Trata-se de uma ideia muito simples. Estamos o tempo todo focados em comunicar o que fazemos, seguido do como fazemos por considerarmos que seja a lógica natural pela qual somos comprados. No entanto, o que Simon descobriu é uma lógica inversa, ou seja, as pessoas não compram o que você faz, elas compram o por quê você faz o que faz. As empresas bem sucedidas mostram para o mercado por que elas fazem o que fazem. De acordo com o modelo do circulo dourado essa é uma visão de dentro para fora.
A provocação que tomo emprestada da descoberta de Simon é que existe um padrão semelhante na forma como pensamos, agimos e nos comunicamos em relação à carreira. Entendo que o padrão atual se caracteriza por uma lógica que também caminha na contramão da descoberta do autor, justamente por ser uma visão de fora para dentro. Esclareço: a partir do modelo do Círculo Dourado podem existir pelo menos duas maneiras de você olhar para a sua carreira: De fora para dentro ou De dentro para fora.
Numa visão tradicional, por exemplo, a tendência é olharmos para fora, aqui entendido como o mercado e as organizações e identificamos as ofertas em termos de oportunidades de trabalho, cursos valorizados, atividades bem remuneradas, perfis pessoais mais aceitos, idiomas mais procurados e etc. Então fazemos um movimento de olhar para dentro, para nossa trajetória, experiência, talentos para verificarmos se possuímos ou não o que está sendo exigido. A partir disso, definimos o que precisamos buscar para fazer frente a estas oportunidades.
Outra forma de olhar a carreira, em sinergia com o que afirma Simon, é nos voltarmos para dentro, descobrir o nosso por quê, o propósito, a contribuição que podemos oferecer para o mundo. Só então devemos olhar para fora, identificar as oportunidades e perceber onde o nosso por quê encontra as necessidades do mercado. Posso garantir que trilhando este caminho você estará mais próximo de sua verdadeira vocação ou, na melhor das hipóteses, terá finalmente encontrado a resposta para a pergunta que pode valer um milhão: a razão de por quê você faz o que faz.
